In this release, Playfood introduces powerful new features designed to make your food delivery marketplaces more dynamic and customer friendly, providing a smoother and more engaging ordering experience.


1. New Vendor Group Blocks on the Homepage

Marketplaces can now showcase vendors in customizable group blocks directly on the homepage. These groups can be generated automatically based on smart system analytics — like "Order Again", "Popular Vendors" (based on weekly order volume), "Fastest Delivery", and "Top Rated Vendors" (from customer reviews and ratings). Each group refreshes regularly to reflect real-time performance. Alternatively, groups can be manually curated, opening up a new marketing opportunity: featured placement as a paid promotion. This turns the homepage into a high-impact visibility tool — and a new revenue stream for marketplaces.

2. Category Navigation Within Vendor Catalogues

Vendors can now organize their product lists into categories, making browsing easier and faster for customers. Whether it's drinks, desserts, or main dishes — each vendor can structure their menu visually, helping users find what they need quickly. This feature improves the user experience and increases higher conversion by streamlining the decision-making process. Customers can still only order from one vendor at a time, but now have a clearer path to build their cart within that vendor’s catalogue.

3. Popular Items Highlighting for Vendors

A new "Popular Items" block can now be added to each vendor's menu, highlighting up to 9 products. This group can either be hand-picked or automatically generated by analysing the vendor's best-selling items from the previous week. It's a simple but effective way to focus customer attention, promote high-margin products and increase upselling opportunities.
